14 Stages of Buying Heels Every Girls Go Through

1. Let's start shopping, but first let me put on flip-flops or slip-on shoes. They are your best friends for heels shopping. Just because.

2. Heading to reasonable price heels stores whilst you stare at the window of Manolo Blahnik from 10m away, telling yourself you will get there someday. SOMEDAY.

3. Here we come, somewhere you can afford...so, you gotta walk into the store like a diva.

4. TIMMMMEE TO SHOPPPP.

5. You walk around the shop like Macklemore. #tooexcited

6. And you just want everything in the store. literally everything.

7. You tell yourself you need everything in the store because it is true. and you know it.

9. Then you realise your tiny wallet can't afford that.

9. You realise you have to put down 10 pairs you were holding, and walk away from the store before you start crying.

10. BUT WAIT A SEC.

11. When you are about to leave the store, you find your soulmate, star-crossed lover, "the one" you have been waiting for.

12. You just have to get them because they are yours now. It is meant to be.

13. Okay okay you grabbed your pairs, and maybe a few or more but whatever. You are tired from walking around and crying by this time. Let's just pay.

14. And now you are proud of it. Just one pair or two, or three but at least not ten pairs. Time to go home soldier.

but you know there's something called online shopping and you will end up buying the shoes you didn't buy at the store.

Ankle Strap Sandals

Summer in Hong Kong is like a living-hell aka it is simply "humid".
You cannot wear closed toe shoes without thinking your feet would burn any minutes.
The problem here is that It is hard to pull off stylish/sexy looks with wedges or platform sandals, isn't it? Don't we just miss pointed toe stiletto pumps! ugh. Then again, it is important to choose your outfit depending on TPO (time, occasion, place) and the weather too of course.

Well, don't worry heels lover!  "Ankle Strap Sandals" are in since last summer and I hope everyone grabbed a few pairs of ankle strap sandals in this sale season! I've seen a few of them in ZARA and other reasonable price shops and here's my recommendation!

This pair is absolutely my favourite but I couldn't find them in my size...what a shame.
This pair would complete your outfit when you just want to wear extremely simple style
(like just a white dress, simple black tops...etc)
(ZARA)

Metallic is in this summer, and having this pair wouldn't hurt you at all!
Imagine seeing yourself in this pair after you are tanned from all the beach fun: Gorgeous.
(ZARA)

We all know that we need every deigns in black.
Do I need to explain? Nope, because black shoes are MUST.
(Pull&Bear)

And is there any other reason for you to grab these pairs other than the fact these are "in"?
Yes, Abso-*ucking-lutely! (...says Mr. Big ;) haha) This type of shoes make your legs look skinnier and more flattering. However, you have to be careful with the strap width. *Tips* If you are short like me then I would recommend thinner straps!

Girls, it's not too late to grab a pair!

Perfect Heel Height?

Someone once said “impractical shoes are more beautiful than comfortable shoes”. I cannot agree more. Extremely high-heeled pumps are “in” since Lady Gaga wore Alexander McQueen’s 10-inch Stilettos in the music video of Bad Romance in 2009.

I mean the very first high-heeled shoes Chopines (1600s) were extremely impractical and made only for the ladies in a palace to look sexy. Tim Gunn says Chopines are pretty much similar to hooker heels with no straps. Well, here we come 21st century and “impractical” is back. The sky-high heels are walking around the city… but hold on, the higher the better? What is the perfect height of heel to look sexy?
Considering the pain you have to go through and the effect on your posture - more than 4.5 inches are risk-taking. Probably only for short periods or photo shooting according to Daily Mail. Then again, us women love wearing 5-6 inch high-heeled pumps for girls night out just because we know #heelsgame is on.
As a heels lover, here is what I think;

For Work: 3 inches for stiletto heels. You don’t wanna go more than 3 inches with stiletto for work, unless you don’t need to walk to get to the office. 3.5 inches are okay for thicker heel like chunky or platforms. However, I wouldn’t recommend to wear more than 4 inches for work… Forget about your #heelsgame and let’s earn more cash to buy Louboutins or Jimmy Choo, shall we?

For Date: You don’t need to wear extremely high-heeled pumps to impress men. Let’s face it, they can’t tell the difference between spool and chunky heel. Maybe 2.5 to 3 inches if you know you will be walking around. You don’t want to ruin your precious time with your lover by having blisters on your feet. Romantic date night? Bring it on, 4 inches. 4 inch heels are sexy and sophisticated. Your legs look absolutely beautiful and sexy in 4 inch heels so as your bum ;)

For GNO: YES GIRLS NIGHT OUT. Bring your #shoegame on! Well, 5-6 inches are perfect but don’t forget to choose chunky heel/ spool heel/ wedges/ platforms! Stiletto would kill your feet right away. 6 inches are absolutely fine for classy night out with your girls because sitting and popping bottles wouldn’t hurt your feet. Trashy night out? Perhaps 4.5-5 inches.

Then again, I have worn 7 inch heels for night out and 5 inch wedges to school… not to mention that I suffered and ended up taking up taxi instead of walking. Impractical shoes are more beautiful and it’s okay to wear or have impractical shoes. At the end of the day, shoes make me happy and that’s all that matters!

Summer and Espadrille

The word "Espadrille" has been everywhere since the early spring 2014. According to Wikipedia, Espadrilles are normally casual flat, but sometimes high heeled shoes. They usually have a canvas or cotton fabric upper and a flexible sole made of rope or rubber material moulded to look like rope.
I’m not a huge fan of flats, but I must admit…Espadrille wedges are the cutest for spring/summer. Here are the some articles with the loveliest espadrilles shoes. Check them out to find your favourites.

The Trucker Sandal

Do you prefer following the trend or keeping your own style?
The trucker sandals and buckled flats are “in” since the grunge style is back. Chunky heels/platform with thick buckles - these shoes look as if people are wearing toothbrushes on their feet…or is it just me? Well, I must admit that MONKI and River Island’s styles are perfect for these truckers. All the grunge lovers must be dying to grab a pair just as much as they love wearing Dr. Martens in winter.
In the UK magazine “Company”(yes that extremely cute hipster-looking magazine), it mentions that “it can take a while to feel the love for a new trend”….let’s just say I can’t agree more with that statement. I wonder if I’ll ever buy a pair of the truckers this summer…what do you think?
